The bigSis concept was conceived last summer of 2010, after I heard of a female runner being attacked during her Sunday afternoon jog.
It is still impossible for me to understand why women cannot be safe while engaging in outdoor activities, even on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Actually, personal safety is an issue that has become very important and it does not depend on age or gender.
This is why I thought about bigSis, a web-based, mobile assisted, social concept where a community of bigSis – carefully selected volunteers – can track people and help them if their personal safety is in danger, all thanks to mobile technology.
