I first met Mark at the Salone Satellite in Milan in 2009. He had to leave his booth for a sec and asked me and my friend to keep a look at it – and we were very happy to help him, so that we had plenty of time to admire the displayed prototypes which will later become Pyrus and Ö.
Since then, Mark has been designing many wonderful objects and one of his latest creations are Fortune for Lobmeyr, a series of water carafes delightfully unique.
The series celebrates the value of the simple and the natural, like drinking water or crafted things.
The pictures of 21 selected waters of the earth – the Rio Amazonas, Euphrates, the Fox Glacier, the Ganges, the Hudson River just to count some- are engraved on a specially designed and numbered water carafes using the traditional copper wheel engraving technique.
