I was reading about this amazing accidental discovery by Rami Louca at the University of Cambridge Nanoscience centre in Wired UK.
Louca grew a spherical “flower” – a titanium dioxide nanoparticle filament coated in a light- absorbing dye that works like chlorophyll in plants – floating in solution. The result is maybe the next- generation of solar cells, much cheaper than silicon cells. (Image courtesy of Wired UK)
