Italia Loves Emilia | The Concert

Everybody knows about the earthquake that hit Emilia Romagna, the region where I live, five months ago.

During these five months, the people living in this region have rolled up their sleeves and started to build their new lives: new homes, new schools, new businesses.

Today, more than 150.000 people are gathering in Reggio Emilia to celebrate this reconstruction with a huge concert, Italia Loves Emilia

But it is not only a celebration. Italia Loves Emilia is a benefit concert and the funds raised will help to  build the  schools in the area hit by the earthquake, through the Italia Loves Emilia ONLUS.

14 among the most famous Italian singers and bands are going to play from 8 p.m on a huge backstage build on Reggio Emilia’s airport premises, playing three songs each plus a surprise, a tribute to the famous Italian chansonnier Pierangelo Bertoli, sung by all of them.

BIAGIO ANTONACCI, CLAUDIO BAGLIONI, ELISA, TIZIANO FERRO, GIORGIA, LORENZO JOVANOTTI, LIGABUE, LITFIBA, FIORELLA MANNOIA, NEGRAMARO, NOMADI, RENATO ZERO and  ZUCCHERO, are the artists that are going to play on these unique benefit concert.

It is a huge event also from the media point of view. Unfortunately, only Sky will broadcast it ,but the good side of it is that the 10 euros that will be spent by viewers will be donated to Italia Loves Emilia ONLUS.

Radio 105, Radio 101, Radio Bruno, Radio Capital, Radio Deejay, Radio Italia, Radio Kiss Kiss, Radio Monte Carlo, RDS, RTL 102.5 and Virgin Radio – the biggest Italian radio channels – have gathered in what has been called  “RADIO LOVES EMILIA”  and they will broadcast the whole live event.

The news, video and image stream on all the social network is incredible. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest are flooded with images and video uploaded from those who are already on the concert premises.

I have just messaged with a good friend of mine, Emiliano Fantuzzi, who is going to play with one of those artist. He wrote he’s already in the backstage, which is extremely overcrowded. I asked him to tweet pictures – but I bet he’s quite excited to play in front of 150.000 and more people.
